TP Bennett was commissioned to provide architectural and interior design services for the headquarters of a Major Chinese bank in the City of London. The 60,000 sq ft refurbishment involved a complete internal strip-out, major internal structural alterations, external re-cladding to the rear, stone facade restoration to the street elevation, roof replacement and interior fit-out to Cat B. The interior design scheme provides a superior working environment for the bank’s staff and visitors. Facilities include an executive office suite with associated meeting rooms, open-plan desking with a variety of break-out spaces, a trading area, a small training area and a retail cashier’s desk in the original ground floor banking hall. Key to the design was the resolution of the unusually shaped and inefficient footprint, which was blighted by an obstructive central core and awkwardly-positioned structural columns.
