Much of the following material is taken from Heathcotes De-vonshire in 1630 in which valuable work, considerable space isgiven to the history of the Hole family. The first ancestor, in thisline, named by Heathcote is XIX.—Hugh Hole, born 1403, who married, in 1434 Mar-garet, the daughter of Sir Thomas de Umfraville.
