Up to 19 percent CO2 per ton of pig iron produced is to be saved in future by a special hydrogen process. Thyssenkrupp will not blow coal dust into the blast furnace as before, but hydrogen. Duisburg, Ruhrgebiet, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland - ThyssenKrupp Steel, ein Stahlarbeiter im Schutzanzug entnimmt eine 1500 Grad heisse Roheisenprobe beim Abstich am Hochofen 8, bis zu 19 Prozent CO2 pro produzierter Tonne Roheisen sollen in Zukunft durch ein besonderes Wasserstoff-Verfahren eingespart werden. Thyssenkrupp wird nicht wie bisher Kohlestaub in den Hochofen einblasen, sondern Wasserstoff.
