The shop also sells sweets and there's a Cadbury's chocolate sign in the window. The shopkeeper peers through the window. Posters for the silent films in the shop window for "Out of the Deep" 1912 silent film, "Buckskin Jack" 1911, Four Singing Miners (named this up to 1912) Photo dated 1912. There's a West Bromwich football fixtures advert which indicates the town was West Bromwich, Staffordshire, West Midlands, England, UK.

On the reverse of this postcard the girl in the photograph has written a date of Sunday 3rd November which means this image is from 1912 - the date is also confirmed by the release dates of the films on the posters in the shop window. The girl who is writing the card to her Uncle Dick writes that it is her family's shop and that the dog belongs to the next door neighbour and that it had just won first prize in its first ever dog show. She signs her name as Gladys.
