Mr Blanchard's Flying Vessel 1728, lateral view Coloured etching with frame (28 x 35 cm) Print from Martinet, rue Saint Jacques in Paris Muller-Quênot Collection Former Soulavie and Edouard Bourdariat collection Blanchard's flying vessel incorporated ingenious mechanics. Using the levers and pulleys the pilot could control the craft through the use of his hands and feet from a sitting position. This enabled the wings to move like those of a bird, in a flapping motion. French Aviation Exhibition, Petit Palais des Champs Elysées, November 1933 –Janvier 1934.
