Mr. Nes was Treasurerof the County of York the usual time the office is held by one individual, and wasafterwards a representative in the House of Representatives of the General Assem-bly. For many years he was one of the most enterprising and successful merchantsof York; and in all his vocations, whether public or private, he sustained thecharacter of an honest man.
