Fascinating behind the scenes picture of the Amazon Distribution Centre in Staffordshire.

GV of the Amazon Depot on the Towers Business park, Rugeley, Staffordshire. These were the bustling scenes inside one of retail giant Amazon's biggest distribution centres yesterday (Mon) as it raced to fill orders on the busiest online shopping day of the year. Over 400 members of staff at the firm's mammoth warehouse near Rugeley, Staffs., could be seen racing around as they picked items off shelves to meet Christmas orders. Items from electrical goods to children's toys and clothes lined miles of shelves, racks and rails inside the company's 800,000 sq ft warehouse. Fork lift trucks and motorised carriers could be seen transporting bulkier items due to the vast size of the warehouse - which is roughly the size of 20 large supermarkets. Bosses at the internet shopping giant predicted yesterday - dubbed 'Cyber Monday' - would be the biggest day in history for online shopping. They were expecting to top million orders from customers - an incredible 41 items per second.
