EMPLOYMENT IN THE VENEER AND PLYWOOD INDUSTRY Plywood Employment Up 75 Percent Oregon gain greatest Veneer and plywood employment increased by 80 percent, from 18, 300 workers in 1950 to 33,000 in 1963 (fig. 2). Oregon plywood employment in- creased sharply and steadily from 7, 000 to 24, 000 but, in Washington, employ- ment dropped from 11^300 to 9,000 (fig. 9).
