It is a collection of adobe houses and cobbled streets leading to a small plaza, nestling amongst dry brown mountains. It is famed for its Sunday market which acts as a magnet for the indigenous communities of the surrounding area, the Tarabucenos . Quechua is still the main language which was the language of the Incas. The market is famed for its textiles and weavings, But lots of local vegetables, animals and other produce are sold.
