And among this bizarre collection of debris in this nest in The Camber at Portsmouth, next to where Sir Ben Ainslie is preparing his Americas Cup challenge, is also a computer mouse. Mr Bill Thomas, who walks his dog near the nest-site, said their antics had intrigued dock workers and passers-by. ‘’ Swans have a habit of choosing odd places to build their nests but this one is right next to a busy working area. Not that they seem to mind. ‘’ They found the rope and placed it over the chain and then added the rest from bits and pieces washed up by the tide. They don’t seem to care when people stop and stare and once the eggs hatch the chicks will be right next to the water. ‘’ The problem is that it is a busy docks and boats come in and out all the time. But they have been very inventive in their choice of nest material.’' ends Pic Mike Walker, Mike Walker Pictures,2015
