A pair of flintlock pistols, Contriner in Vienna, circa 1810/20. Slender, octagonal barrels, slightly constricted in the middle with twelve-groove rifled bores in 12 mm calibre. The barrel top fluted at the breech with the engraved inscription "Contriner" in front. Finely engraved patent breechblocks bearing inlaid gold lines, folding rear sights. Locks with slightly engraved lockplates and frizzens on rollers. Repeated, engraved inscription "Contriner in Wein". Adjustable set triggers. Walnut full stock and finely chequered grips.
