The merchantscan eliminate any weed from white clover exceptthis, and although they can get most of it out,it is very difficult to get the proportions of thisweed under 1 per cent., in which case thequantity has to be declared at the time of sale,and in consequence English seed is again pre-judiced, and American white clover is beingsown, although it is a mere weed as comparedwith English. I would therefore urge growers tobe very careful on what land they save whiteclover seed, and also to go to the expense of havingRed Robin cut out of the growing crop by womenlabour, as that is the only way to save the whiteclover-growing industry in this country.
