Castaway, Alexander Selkirk (1676-1721) been greeted by Woodes Rogers (1679–1732) the captain of the Duke, upon his rescue. Alexander Selcraig, was a Scottish sailor who spent more than four years as a castaway after being marooned on an uninhabited island in the South Pacific Ocean.
