Wrecked in the waters of the Wyre
The wrecks of the River Wyre pictured at high tide, near the Fleetwood nature reserve. In the mid 1700s, the volume of shipping at two of the Wyre's creeks – Skippool and Wardleys – is believed to have exceeded that of Liverpool. Sadly these wrecks were abandoned near the mouth of the river.
