The AH-64E Apache helicopter is considered the bridging strategy to the Army's Future Vertical Lift program. The unit currently has Apache aviators in training to fly the new aircraft, and those pilots will soon bring the dynamic capability to the Global Response Force. Equipment modernization is crucial to winning tomorrow's fight, and employing equipment such as the new Apache helicopter is one way the 82nd Airborne Division is leading this effort.
