Designed as a celebration of the history of Malaysia from the Malacca sultanate through independence to the present day. Carving on the obelisk depict important events in the country's development. The 68 metre tall monument is built in the shape of a hibiscus, the national flower of Malaysia. It also functions as a lighthouse.
