The foregoing refers to experiments in which the observation of the soft palate wasmade at the end of the exploration. It occurred to us that possibly the paucity ofthese results was due to exhaustion of the cortex. We therefore devoted two experi-ments to examine this point first, with the effect that we obtained very definitelocalisation of the palate movements. (1.)
