An elephant having a dust bath in front of Mount Kilimanjaro. AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK, KENYA: BREATHTAKING images show a majestic elephant posing in front of Mount Kilimanjaro. Photographs show the family of elephants dust bathing with the cloud-covered peak of the volcano in the background. The African savannah elephant is the world?s largest land animal, reaching heights of up to 13 feet and needing to eat 350 pounds of vegetation every day. Male and female savannah elephants both have tusks which have nerve endings and are used as tools for lifting objects, stripping bark from trees, and even digging for water in times of severe drought. These beautiful images were captured by IT professional and wildlife photographer Sunny Saha Pramanick (37) from Kolkata, India. Sunny took the photographs with a Nikon D850 while on a safari in Amboseli National Park, Kenya. ?I felt really lucky to capture these shots of the elephants with the background of Mt Kilimanjaro as 70 per cent of people do not even get a sight of the peak because it is mostly covered with clouds,? said Sunny. ?I got a clear view of the mountain and even got shots of elephants in front. It was my dream shot and I feel very lucky to be able to capture it. ?At the time we got there, the elephants were dust bathing.
