Georges who representedthe Volunteer Band, under the di-rection of which this service washeld. The subject was logically divid-ed into three parts which were:By Men Rather Than By Angels,By All Men Rather Than by aFew, and By Testimony RatherThan by Argument. These topicswere discussed by the speakers inthe order named. In his ffort to show that Godworks through men instead ofthrough angels McGrath cited theexamples of such men as Washing-ton and Lincoln as being evidence ofthe fact that God prefers to workamong men with men. He broughtout the point that God could hav«>caused the work of these men tohave been done in some other waybut that he chose men to do it inorder that the accomplishment ofthis work should be kept within thecapabilities of human achievement.
