Race officials number the arms of LT Chris Lewis prior to start of the swimming event at the 1989 Ironman Triathlon. Lewis, a member of the 548th Reconnaissance Technical Group at Hickam Air Force Base, eventually placed 326th out of 1,246 participants in the race, which features a swim, a 112-mile bicycle ride and a marathon run.
