History of Lincoln, England - An old sketch of the former 'Magazine House' (Outer Exchequer Gate) where tenants of church property once came to pay .their rents and tithes. .Located at the cathedral end of Castle Hill, this is where tenants who rented property from the church came to pay their rents. A black and white pattern chequered cloth (exchequer) was used to aid the counting of the rent money.
