These features are being largely eliminated or remedied and today it is possible to get Suifolks as fine in quality and conformation as any found in draft breeds. The good qualities of the Suffolk are their very uniform get, their great endurance and wonderful tractability and good disposi- tion. They mature very early and are probably the easiest keepers of any of the heavy breeds, and are sure to become very popular with the small breeder and ordinary farmer, as they make an ideal farm horse rather than a heavy draft horse for the city Fig. 168.
