Zanskar is a valley which lies in the eastern half of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Together with the neighboring region of Ladakh, Zanskar was briefly a part of the kingdom of Guge in Western Tibet. Zanskar is home of small villages and isolated monasteries. Its administrative center is a village named Padum. Zangla is a small town located 35km North of Padum. Women collect money to build a gompa.
