In 1849 George T. Hopper and Joseph M. Harperwere added to the roll, and during the fall of this year they went on anexcursion to Alban3, Utica, Auburn, Rochester, Buffalo, Niagara Falls, andCanada. They were absent thirteen days, parading twenty-six men andaccompanied by Dodworths Band. Their reception at these places was onecontinuous ovation along the route, and on their return some twenty companiesturned out to bid them a welcome home.
