BERNARD Son of Charles de Gondi and Alexandra Valori was High Prior and Lord of the Republic of Florence in 1492 and 1500. He was Grand Gonfalonnier de Iustice and Chief Sovereign of the Republic of Florence in the year 1520. He wore an ermine coat strewn with gold stars and a silver binnet. In the great ceremonies he wore a large ermine cap decorated with gold bridges and pearls and topped with a large pearl with silver rays. Taken from the Cabinet of M. l'Abbé de Gondi in Florence
