A conference is held in Baghdad to commemorate three years since the recapture of Tikrit from the Islamic State. The conference was attended by the Iraqi Interior Minister, by the commander of the Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF), Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and by the leader of the ‘Asaib Ahl al-Haq' movement, Qais al- Khazali, among others Iraqi officials. Tikrit was recaptured from the Islamic State by the Iraqi forces in April 2015, following heavy fighting. The Iraqi forces were made up of the Government's Security Forces and the PMF, of which ‘Asaib Ahl al-Haq' (‘League of Righteous People')
