Starbucks Coffee Company Spring Street cafe in the Soho neighborhood of New York
Starbucks Coffee Company reopens it Spring Street cafe in the Soho neighborhood of New York on Tuesday, April 27, 2010. The renovated location is the first Starbucks to be LEED registered with repurposed wood, LED and CFL lighting, low volatile paints and a Clover coffee machine. The Clover, an energy efficient coffee maker, is similar to a french press but automated and allows the user to program brew, water, etc. depending on the roast. Customers can also opt to have their coffee in "for here" mugs which are reusable, significantly reducing waste. (© Richard B. Levine)
