Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) 2nd Class Lacarsha Mitchell, from Jacksonville, Florida, assigned to the first-in-class aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) air department, signals safe launch of an F/A-18F Super Hornet, attached to the "Gladiators" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 106, on the flight deck, Sept. 19, 2022. Ford is underway in the Atlantic Ocean conducting carrier qualifications and workups for a scheduled deployment this fall.
