Adm. Karl Schultz, Commandant, United States Coast Guard, presents a gift to keynote speaker Norman Mineta, former Dept. of Transportation Secretary, at USCG HQ's Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month observance on May 27th, 2021. Secretary Mineta served in Congress for over 20 years and in the Cabinets of both Republican and Democratic presidents. While in Congress, he was the co-founder of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, and Chair of the National Civil Aviation Review Commission in 1999.
