It does not contain the formand shape of the chicken, as the plant germ containsthe form of the plant—they are unlike in this respect—but the germ is the point at which the change be-gins which turns the ^^^ into a little animal like itsparent. Both the seed and the ^^g have the albumenor white, but the latter has a yolk or yellow, and theformer has none. And both are inclosed in an out-side covering, shell or envelope. But the boys are most interested just now in hu-man seeds or eggs, from Avhich babies are born, andwe will pass on to a description of them. It IS usually the case in nature that the smallestplants and animals produce the smallest seeds andeggs, and the largest sizes,
