Four railway viaducts cross the Castlefield Canal Basin. Here we see the 1894 grey tubular steel Great Northern Viaduct, which is now disused. Next to it, in the background, is the red brick 1877 Cornbrook Viaduct, used by Metrolink trams, and using a wrought iron truss girder bridge to cross the basin. The red brick office block (Tangerine PR Agency) and Castlefield Youth Hostel buildings are a feature of the Castlefield Heritage Park's regeneration of an old industrial canal basin into a tourist attraction. The barge, with plants pots, in the foreground is a houseboat.
