Jackson,Roane, Calhoun, Gilmer, Braxton and Lewis Counties. They reached the headwaters of the Little Kanawha river without having seen any trace of the being bountiful along this river they resolved to spend a few days on ahunt. They pitched their camp on Stewarts Creek. Indian Summer was now onand the weather was all that could be desired by our scouts (now termed hunters).They never forgot themselves so much as to neglect watching the trail leading.
