Seventy-eight trains will leave and enter every day. The old Cristina Station of the Western Railways will then be used as a warehouse for local freight. Offices of the several lines will be in the upper rooms of the new station. Officers of the company, a few weeks since, while on a visit of inspection to the work being done, approved of General Manager Orr's proposal to extend the rail- road in Pinar del Rio from Guane Station to the town of Guane, a distance of three kilometers, and also to extend their lines in Santa Clara Province between Esles and Cienfuegos, a distance of seven kilometers. This work will be pushed at once and the company expects to have a daily train di- rect from Havana to Cienfuegos by the end of the present year. THE RAILROADS OF
