The result was thatpractically the whole Turkish force in this dis-trict was destroyed, over 5,000 prisoners beingtaken, besides many guns, machine-guns andother material. The remnant of the Turkishforce was pursued beyond Ana, 83 miles north-west of Hit, by March 28th, and large depots ofammunition fell into British hands at Hadithaand Ana.
