The pi-lot, who was in charge of the vessel whenit went ashore, has made an affidavit thatthe wreck was due to the discontinuance ofa lighthouse on Sands Point. He savs thatshortly after midnight he was trying tomake the head of the Sound and slowed theengines until he could see some landmarkby which to steer. Only one light wasvisible and that one he mistook for NorwalkLight. He could not see the light that has.
