A silver-mounted Ottoman yatagan, dated 1803 Characteristically curved blade, cut on the back, with gold-inlaid inscribed cartouches, surrounded by floral silver inlays, all the way to the point on both sides. Dated "1218" (= 1803) on the reverse side at the base of the blade. Filigree blade mounting with a heavy silver grip set with coral. Later nickel-silver scabbard embossed with figures, the locket with silver filigree and coral decoration. Silver parts darkened. The point of the blade is somewhat pitted.
