These electrically-driven tools all havetheir driving motors built into the machines forming integral partsof them. The exhibit includes a five-foot radial drill, 225 i-in. up-right drill, automatic armature disc notching machine, a machinefor winding magnet coils for electrical machinery, a 14-in. watertool grinder, bench grinder, shop saw, sensitive drills and severalsizes of portable drills and center grinders. The radial drill has thedriving motor built into the head of the machine, and drives thespindle through the least possible number of gears. The motor isof their variable-speed type, with nine speeds, which, in connectionwith the lock gears, gives eighteen speeds for the spindle, any ofwhich are instantly available.
