PORCH, THOMAS PORCH, esq. of Edgarley, in the county of Somerset, h7th March, 1808, m. 16th December, 1830, Jane, only daughter of Edward Barber,esq. of Barston, in Warwickshire, and has issue, John-Albert, h. in 1833. This gentleman, whose patronymic is Reeves, assumed, by sign manual, 8th December,1830, in pursuance of the testamentary injunction of his maternal grandfather, whoseestates he inherited, the surname of Porch The family of Reeves has been settled atGlastonbury, in the county of Somerset, formany generations ; and in the public registerof Streat, about two miles from that town,mention is made of one, Robert Reeves,being married at the village cross, to Eliza-beth Cribb, of Glaston, on 7th November,1657. Peter Reeves, a man of property, andone of the most respectable inhabitants ofGlostonbury ; according to the phrase ofthose times, lived on his own and died onhis own.
