Clouties & other offerings on a swaying thorn branch above the stream running S from St Euny Holy Well, Chapel Euny, Sancreed, Cornwall, England, UK. The well was used as a baptistry for a Medieval chapel which existed here until 1830. Reputed to have healing powers into the C18th & C19th, especially for children's diseases & conditions. Chidren were dipped three times in the water then dragged three times clockwise (sunwise) over the grass around the well. St Euny (Uny) is considered to have been an Early Christian Irish missionary, his sister was St Ia. This photograph was taken in April 2002.
