Liver X receptor agonist drug molecule. Molecular model of the liver X receptor (LXR) agonist drug GW3965. This drug interferes with the function of certain nuclear receptors, proteins that enable gene expression. Liver X receptors (LXRs) are important regulators of cholesterol, fatty acid, and glucose homeostasis. The molecular formula is The atoms (spheres) in this model are colour-coded: carbon (grey), hydrogen (white), chlorine (pale green), fluorine (green), nitrogen (blue) and oxygen (red). Like other LXR agonists, GW3965 is being studied in murine (mouse) models of atherosclerosis, diabetes, anti-inflammation, and Alzheimer's disease.
