Lieutenant Colonel Arthur R. Hickle, commanding officer of Marine Attack Squadron (VMA) 311, is welcomed to Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 13 at Chu Lai by the group commander Colonel Thomas E. Murphree. VMA-311 "Tomcats" and their A-4E Skyhawks joined MAG-15 and its F-4E phantoms for their Vietnam tour after five years of combat flying with MAG-12.
