The Embroidery isexecuted in bright coloured silks, and the designs an Istitches are extremely simple. The design given of thiswork in Fig. 318 is a mat with its four corners filled in withsprays of flowers, and the centre ornamented with a work : Make the centre a star of twenty-four pointsand of three shades of a bright-coloured silk, and where thepoints meet in the centre of the star, work one CrossStitch in the medium shade of silk.
