The City Library (Kirjasto) in the city of Tampere, Finnland. The Finns are great readers and, on average, borrow about 20 books a year from libraries. The late twentieth century architecture of the library is noteworthy. From above, it was designed to look like a bird in flight by the husband and wife team of Reima and Raili Pietil.
