If the floor is notlaid, you can notch the top of two joistsand place the rest in the notches as shownin Photo No. 2. When the joists are not asconvenient as shown in Photo No. 2 it maybe necessary to block out one or both of thejoists with 2x4s to form a bearing for therest; in other words, to nail pieces of woodas cleats to the joists, as shown in PhotoNo.
