A view of the south quays along the River Suir as it flows through Waterford, the oldest city in the Republic of Ireland. To the left is Reginald's Tower, built by the Anglo-Normans after their conquest of Waterford, it replaced an earlier Viking fortification in the 13th century. During the 17th and 18th centuries the Tower was used as a munitions store and in the early 19th century it became the residence of the Chief Constable of Waterford.
