At the Fleischman Floral Co.'s store on Jackson boulevard the demand for funeral work has been very heavy of late, so much so that it has turned the usually dull July and August into very fair business months. During the lat- ter end of last week this house had a lot of work for the John T. Shayne and other funerals. Alpha Elberfield, proprietor of the Alpha Floral Co., Kansas City, Mo., who was here the first of the week, was called home August 23 by a tele- gram announcing the death of his wife's sister. Miss Emily Schiller, bookkeeper for Schiller the Florist, was married, Au- gust 18, to Harry Yager. The wedding took place at the home of the bride's sister in Evanston. E. Buettner, the Park Ridge grow- er, predicts that this fall will show a larger and better volume of business than any previous season.
