November 27.—During the night ofNovember 27 the patient seemed to feelsomething give way in his chest. Follow-ing this he coughed up about two ouncesof foul purulent material. Following theevacuation of this abscess the sputum wasslightly blood-tinged. The temperattirewas normal: the patient felt perfectly well. There is a ringlikearea still present which suggests cavity. Near right midchest between thirdand fourth ribs, there is area of increased density resembling somewhat processbelow clavicle in its early stage. Lung markings running from both areas arethickened.
