Anhinga perched in tree in The Everglades at Royal Palm, Anhinga Trail. Famous location for water birds and living side by side with many American Alligators, all hunting for an abundance of is black-bodied, female has a buffy neck and breast, In flight they flap and glide along with neck extended with long tail spread, perches like Cormorants, and often with wings spread out to dry themselves. Nearly always swim submerged, with only head and part of neck visible, appearing snakelike.
