One of the illustrations herewith shows dif-ferent views of the box, which is designed by and built underthe supervision of Mr. William Cox, who is in charge of farecollection devices for the company. The box is very muchlighter and also very much smaller than tin average p-a-y-etype of box and can be carried by the conductor or broughtinto the car just as readily as the old hand fare box. The. box is provided with a rocking or tilting arrangement bywhich the conductor, with a single simple forward movement,discharges the fares from the upper platform of the box intothe main compartment below.
