In First month, 1825, the elders presented a charge ofunsoundness against Elias Hicks in the Preparative Meet-ing of Ministers and Elders, the intent being to have thecharge forwarded to the monthly meeting, but this actionwas not taken. With phenomenal persistence one of theelders introduced the subject in the monthly meeting, andsecured the appointment of a committee to investigate themerits of the case.
